After taking November and December off for the birth of my second child, I got back to fishing mid January. The fishing was a little slow and the weather was down right terrible. Had to cancel 4 trips due to weather. In February, the weather started to stabilize and the fishing went off. We’re catching plenty yellowfins right with a lot of them being over 100lbs. All of the fish are being caught in shallow water so we haven’t made any long boat rides. There’s also a good amount of wahoo around, but the tuna fishing is so good that I haven’t put a lot of time in on them. One day it was so good that my guys were tired of fighting fish so I was just hand feeding 120lb yellows right next to the boat. Unfortunately, it was the end of the day and the gopro battery was dead . All fish lately have been caught on chunks of bonito. On the days when its really rough, I’ve been able to catch some nice amberjacks and lane snapper. Fishing should stay good on the lumps until April.
