Its been great start to the year. Tuna fishing is on fire. The big yellowfin tuna are on the lump just like they are supposed to be this time of year. Most of these fish are over 100 lbs. We’re catching them on chunks of pogies, bonita, and kingfish. On the days that the big fish aren’t cooperating, there are good numbers of small yellowfins at the deepwater floating platforms. We’re catkching them mostly on lures and chunks of tuna. The wahoo are still around but we haven’t been spending a lot of time on them because the tuna are biting.
The weather was pretty rough in February but March has had plenty of really nice days. The forecast for next 10 days looks pretty good so hopefully it stays that way.
